Pycap CEO Stuart Browne joined the Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) Innovation Market Place as an Expert Reviewer. This role involves analyzing and helping select early stage technology companies from developing countries that have potential to create a large positive impact on social causes in addition to financial success.
Supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and launched by Ban Ki-moon, former UN Secretary-General, during the United Nations Millennium Development Goals Summit in September 2010, Every Woman Every Child is an unprecedented global movement that mobilizes and intensifies international and national action by governments, multi-laterals, the private sector and civil society to address the major health challenges facing women, children and adolescents around the world. The movement puts into action the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health, which presents a road-map to ending all preventable deaths of women, children and adolescents within a generation and ensuring their well-being. “The three overarching objectives of the Global Strategy are Survive, Thrive and Transform. With its full implementation—supporting country priorities and plans and building the momentum of Every Woman Every Child—no woman, child or adolescent should face a greater risk of preventable death because of where they live or who they are.”- Ban Ki-Moon, Former UN Secretary-General The Innovation Marketplace is an innovation support platform that manages a health innovation portfolio selected due to their potential to save and improve the lives of women and children in low and middle-income countries and their potential to scale sustainably. We work closely with each portfolio organization to create opportunities for long-term partnerships with funders, investors, and commercialization partners.
